Clubs
Going into high school as a freshman, I knew I wanted to be involved in the school. At freshman orientation I learned about a lot of clubs that Century High School had, and immediately signed up for the ones I was interested in.
Leo Club was the first club I joined. This club is centered around serving the community through a variety of different activities. Some of the activities I did with this club include a car wash, volunteering at election centers, and serving at soup kitchens. From these experiences, I developed great leadership and interpersonal skills. To learn more about Leo Club, click here
In the spring of my sophomore year, I got inducted into NHS. I applied for the executive board and got awarded the position of Junior Representative. I served as an executive board member in which I communicated to the junior class about events and other opportunities.
In my junior year of high school I joined Varsity Club. It is a club for any varsity athlete at Century High School who possesses leadership skills. The club hosts school events such as a faculty vs. student basketball game. Varsity club also raises money to fund our athletic teams and facilities.
Also, in my junior year I joined a club called Young Life. It's an international club that aims to introduce Christianity to high school students through fun social activities. This club has given me better morals, truly making me a better person. The club takes place after school on a weeknight and around 200 students attend. This year my school's Young Life has chosen to take a trip to Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, Colorado. I have been working for a few months to save up and pay for this trip myself. I plan on continuing to participate in this club for the rest of my senior year. Watch the video below to find out more about Frontier Ranch!
