Victoria Prokic

I started playing volleyball the summer going into high school. My friend invited me to join her at a camp called Spike It, run by Coach Dave Trumbo. I ended up enjoying the camp so much that I decided I would try out for Century High School's volleyball team, coached by Becky Trumbo. A few months later, I tried out and ended up making the varsity team! I was definitely not as skilled as the rest of the team but the coach saw a lot of potential in me. I worked hard every practice trying to catch up to the rest of the players on the team. My hard work paid off; halfway through my freshman year season I was a starter. 

 

I enjoyed my first season of volleyball and didn't want it to end. That winter I joined a local club team, Carroll County Volleyball Club (CCVC), coached by Bryan Trumbo. Club practices were longer and more intense. I received individual help every practice and soon I saw myself improve. After the season ended, I realized volleyball was something I wanted to pursue. 

 

My sophomore year Coach Bryan Trumbo took over the volleyball program at Century High School. I was now playing for Coach Trumbo for my high school and club team. I continued to play both high school and club volleyball for Coach Bryan Trumbo through my sophomore, junior, and now senior year. Coach Bryan Trumbo's dad, Coach Dave Trumbo, watched me improve over the years. He showed great interest in my athletic abilities and I was soon being recruited. I am now proud to say that I have committed to play volleyball at Stevenson University under head coach Dave Trumbo.
