Stevenson University has four core values that represent what the school envisions their students to achieve. Throughout my high school career, I have been striving to achieve excellence in all aspects. Therefore, I have chosen to highlight excellence as the core value that describes me and my future goals at Stevenson University.

In high school I have achieved excellence academically. I have maintained good grades while balancing my extracurricular activities and jobs. Most importantly, I have discovered what I am interested in and what career I would like to pursue. I know I will also excel academically at Stevenson due to my tremendous drive. I have established a career goal of becoming a physician assistant and I will push myself until I can finally say I have accomplished that goal. Stevenson University has a challenging biology program, which I would like to take part in, that prepares students to excel in fields such as medicine and health profession programs. A study taken by Stevenson reports that within six months of graduating, 91% of undergraduate and graduate students were employed or attending graduate school. My academic goal is to graduate from Stevenson with a degree in biology and get accepted into a physician assistant program.

 

Along with academics, I have also excelled in all of my sports. I have been recognized by Carroll County Times and The Baltimore Sun as an outstanding volleyball player. I have been a leader on the court on my travel, AAU, and high school basketball team. For indoor and outdoor track & field, I have placed within the top 10 at states every year for high jump. I even qualified in high jump for Nationals. A part of achieving excellence includes persisting towards a goal. I have made it my goal to break the school record for high jump this upcoming season of track. I am very excited to be a part of the volleyball team at Stevenson University. The volleyball team has excelled, as they have been the #1 seed in their conference the past four years and have won the conference championship three times. Stevenson University has made a huge advancement being the first DIII school to have a sand volleyball team. My athletic goal is to excel on the court and contribute to the team's success.
